A dream to refine dreams

November 18, 2018

Dear G & E,

When we visited your property, it was raining sideways and cold.  We plodded through the mud, listened to the water on the roof, and enjoyed every minute we were there.  We admired the trees, the original hearth, the thoughtful plantings, and the improvements you made on your one-of-a-kind home.  In the big room at the front of the house, the light is beautiful (even in the rain!), and we like it so much we would make it our master bedroom.  Our boys would have rooms side by side off the kitchen.  The house feels like home.  Quiet, peaceful, but bright and cheery.

We make this offer from our hearts.  It’s a dream for us to live on more land, care for it, and broaden our horizons.  We have two young boys (F - 3 ½ and M - 2) and Bennett (our 12-year-old lab mix).  It is our dream for our family to grow up connected to nature and enjoy this beautiful space.  It’s a stretch for us but an investment in our family.  It would change our lives.

Our dream has been growing.  We first saw your property 12 years ago, when we met the _____s next door, and we have loved this area ever since.  Kevin has collaborated with their youngest son C for years on music projects.  Now C is building a house on the adjacent family property and our sons would grow up together.  We would feel safe knowing that our neighbors care, as we do, about this lifestyle and would never parcel out their land or sell it to a developer.

Please consider our offer of ______.  Though it is ___% below the listing price, it is necessary to do the modifications to make it work for our family as we grow.  We love the house and pledge to care for it; we would never tear it down.

We hope you will entrust us with your legacy on South Lowell.  Please know that we would work harder than we ever have to continue as good stewards of the land, good neighbors to the ______s and others in the community, and very happy homeowners.

With deepest appreciation,

L & K & F & M & B
