bedrooms and paint colors
Good morning! It almost looks like bedrooms! We appreciate that the subs are going out of order and making extra efforts to get the bedrooms ready for us to move in next month, even if everything else takes more time.
The paint colors we chose are our favorites from our current house, Sherwin-Williams Grassland and Agreeable Gray. (I actually suspected that the wood panel room was started in Grassland, too, so I asked them to double check... sorry not sorry #controlfreak).
Since the wood panel room is enormous, we hope both boys will enjoy being in there together with all their toys in the giant closets. The smaller room can be a reading room, a guest room, or an extra room for one of the boys if they prefer not to share. It has a nice window view onto the backyard.
In the wood panel room above, you might remember there was a window and a giant mirror (formerly an exterior door!) that has now been closed in with new wood panels. They will add new closet bi-hinge doors replacing the rickety bi-fold doors. All the doors and the fireplace will be painted white.
For carpet in the bedrooms and living room I chose the top middle color in a middle-grade carpet to last us a just few years: Shaw Always Ready II in Etched Glass. After that we will consider refinishing the underlying hardwood floors.
It's exciting to see something that starts to look like home in this new place.
