benny's hill
This week we chose a resting place on the property for our precious dog Bennett. We said goodbye on February 21 and I haven't been able to write or say much about it. He had just turned 12 years old. So many emotions about losing the dog who made us a family, ate everything, taught us infinite patience, loved snuggle piles, and admittedly taxed our busy family in his final years.
I'm so sad he didn't get to see this place before he passed, but he knew he wasn't up for this adventure. Still, it feels unquestionably right to have him here with us and give him a good sunny spot to be.
We chose and call it Benny's Hill, where we can see him and he can see us and he can roll in the grass and sunshine and sniff the air and chase the beavers and be ridiculous with all the space in the world.
You deserve this spot. We miss you so much, Boo. I am grateful for every snuggle. You were the best worst dog.
