shiplap
It's here, it's here, the shiplap is here! Take a look at the wall coming in through our front door.
I am so thrilled to see the more personal design elements start to come in to the renovation process. It makes it feel like my house, and then I get a little weepy because it's our adventure.
Here's a view in the bathroom with darker lighting but you can see the work-in-progress as he is installing around the transom window.
The exterior siding all around the front door and on the exterior of the bathroom has also now been installed and painted a perfect-match blue, so it's definitely looking a little more polished around here.
We remain in 1/2 the house while we wait on a lot of floor and bathroom work in the rest of the house. It's not the end of the world because we've been surprisingly comfortable in our tight quarters-- everything we need, nothing we don't, just like we drew it up.
This is a real-life look at how we rearranged our bedroom/living room/office where we spend all our evening time. Since then we swapped out the lamp for a taller floor lamp and added a lovely contractor garbage bag to block some light in the morning, plus a cute house plant to purify the air or whatever it is they do. It's cute anyway. Once we spread out in the rest of the house, this will be a comfy guest room.
Kevin continues to work with the contractors on some quality control around the front stoop and some other steps that still need to happen. We know that they have moved on to bigger jobs since we moved in, so it will take some effort to pull this across the finish line. (Nice guys finish last? But really not being nice is not an option for us, soooo here we are.)
