It's happening. We are so close! Under Kevin's close watch, the guys were hard at work today making significant progress.
Painters were touching up and new trim was getting fixed. The electrician installed our fancy hard-wired smoke detectors, light switches, outlets, and fixtures inside and out. (Did you see our cute tiny exterior farm light?) The plumber supervised the concrete specialist installing our custom dove gray poured concrete countertops in the bathroom. There is light and color and we can start to envision ourselves in the space. I've been afraid to get my hopes up but I really think this might come together soon.
Tomorrow we expect the carpet to be installed in the living room. I am sure it will feel homey and different and I almost can't picture it. (We tried to move the couch out of the way but eeee we couldn't get it through the doors with the hinges on so that's your prob fellas.) And Scott is coming back to acid-wash the concrete stoop and finish the decorative stones around the sides.
On Monday next week, before the holiday, we have movers coming back to help us move the rest of our stuff in from storage pods out in the driveway. It's so exciting! The boys will be with grandparents for a few days and we dream of staying up late with music and pizza and unpacking... for real this time.
